My debut novel, The Water Tower, is officially available for pre-sale on Amazon. The official release date is June 20, 2023.In the meantime, I will be attending Left Coast Crime 2023: Trouble in Tucson on March 16-19 for a few days of panels, author speed dating, awards banquets, and more. I’ll be sitting on the “What Makes a Thriller Thrilling” panel on Saturday, March 18, along with Marco Carocari, Lee Matthew Goldberg, and Wanda M. Morris, moderated by Kaira Rouda. This is my first writing conference and I am very, very excited to be a part of this panel!
While I’m waiting for LCC to roll around, I’m working on editing my second book, a standalone thriller that begins in 1996 with a group of five high-school friends, one of whom disappears one fateful evening. I wrote the first draft last year, but editing is definitely a challenge for me. When I’m writing, the rule is “it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be words”; however, when I’m editing, I need to pull everything together into a cohesive story, which takes some time.
Currently I’m reading Leigh Bardugo’s Hell Bent, the second book in her Alex Stern series which takes place among the secret societies of Yale. Bardugo has created a magical world that I find myself lost in, and this is one of my favorite series. I did a re-read of the first book, Ninth House, to prepare for the second book’s release, and I enjoyed Ninth House just as much the second time. If you’re so inclined, head over to my Amazon author page and pre-order The Water Tower!
